The Gold Diggers (1983) (to be continued)

While my belated encounter with Léolo (see below) proved rather disappointing, my long-delayed date with Sally Potter's great "lost" film The Gold Diggers (1983) met, and maybe even surpassed, my expectations. Lots to say about this one, and not enough time to say it right now. Review to come when I've had a chance to take a look at the short films included on the DVD as well.

  1. Oh yay. It's pretty nerve-wracking seeing a film that's been called a "legend" by B. Ruby Rich. I'm glad you liked it!

  2. Sophie: I absolutely LOVED it! Am treating myself to a viewing of "Thriller" and the other shorts tonight. I hope to post something on the whole package within the next week or so. (Distracted by - ugh - marking at the moment.) But after reading your amazing chapters on the films I feel that anything I have to say will be ... well, not very interesting at all...

And, in reply to your email, yes, I'll be sure to send you the link to the Tori Buyer's Guide. I'm not certain exactly when it's going up on WTT, probably within the next few weeks, when the new website launches. Anyway, will let you know. Many thanks for stopping by!
